Jackson, currently 20 years of age, listens to Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and cites Muse as what got him into rock music. Though passionate about music, he has signed on to the Singapore Armed Forces and will be working as a soldier for the next five years. For him, army is a time to figure out what he really wants to do, and if the army is something he will want to commit to for the rest of his life.
‘Five years is a very long time, so I gotta rethink what I may want to do. If the prospects are good, maybe I’ll stay on.’
Jackson smokes Winston Reds. When asked about how he ended up with this selection of cigarettes, he said that he first started with Malboro Reds, but couldn’t stand the bad aftertaste and switched to Malboro Menthol. However, menthol was too strong, so he switched again to Viceroy menthol lights. To him, lights were so weak that he had to smoke close to two packs a day. He thought that was rather much, and moved on to Malboro lights, but to no avail. In the end, he picked up Winston Reds. To him, Winston Reds is a good cigarette to smoke when you’re drinking, but laments that he doesn’t get to smoke much anymore because of the army.
Wise words from Jackson:
’In the Army, you only get 3 cigarettes a day, so you gotta make full use of those 3 cigarettes. If you smoke menthol, it’s gonna be very short lived, so Reds gives you the kick that is enough to last you the whole day.’
